Week 39 – FourFiveSeconds

Have you ever done a duet with a murderer?!

Me neither!

But I did one with Devin, and I forced him to do this song!

Week 38 – Me and You

Another week of madness! Another late night ukulele jam! Another She & Him song! BAM.

I love this song. I hope you do, too. And I’m very excited for the batch of duets I’ve got planned.

Week 37 – Riptide

I have honestly lost count of how many people have requested this song from me, so I apologize if this video doesn’t shout you out specifically, but if you’ve told me I should do this song, HERE IT IS!

Full disclosure: I procrastinated on doing this song because I didn’t really like the song that much, but learning to play it and practicing really gave me an appreciation for it. I think I’m a bit of a fan now.

It was a lot of fun to play. I was so intimidated by the strumming pattern, which granted, isn’t 100% perfect, but I have never, in 37 weeks, recorded a song so quickly. It’s usually at least a 90 minute to 2 hour process, and I shot this one in about 30 minutes between work and teaching my Zumba class. CRAY-ZEE. (Ugh, I feel dirty typing “crazy” like that. Sorry, Master’s degree…)

Anyway, here’s Vance Joy! En-Joy! (See what I did there? Man, I crack myself up.)

Week 36 – Parachute

After this video, please never expect me to do anything this complicated ever again – I’ve peaked. This is it! This is every skill I have!

(Not really, but holy EFF was this exhausting and time-consuming and it’s still not as spot-on as I’d like it to be!)

Anyway, despite being imperfect, this was so much fun to do – especially the dance part!

I love this song, and I hope you love my take on it. This is Parachute by Ingrid Michaelson.

Week 35 – Toxic

When my BFF Kayla said I should do a Britney Spears song on my ukulele and I suggested that “Toxic” might be a fun choice, her reaction went a little something like this:

So…I did Toxic! I think this is one of my favourite songs that I’ve done so far. This is a different spin on the song, inspired by Melanie Martinez (famous from The Voice). It was a huge, huge, huge challenge, but also so, so, so much fun!

Wanna duet? Get in touch! I chase after NO ONE (except puppies).
