You know that moment where your confidence wanes a bit, letting a sliver of self-doubt into your world, and then that sliver starts to grow and you start to wonder what the hell you’re doing? And if it’s the right thing? Or if you’re being the right version of yourself? Or if just being yourself is good enough? Or if maybe the jerks in your world are right?

Basically, you start asking a lot of questions.

Thank goodness that just as I was starting to feel that way, I found this:

How to Be a Woman, by Caitlin Moran.
How to Be a Woman, by Caitlin Moran.

And suddenly I feel confident and normal and like I’m on the right path.

Like, how did she know that I totally had a 100% invented relationship with Marilyn Manson in my head when I was 15?!

(Among many others – not with Marilyn Manson – since.)

And also, the moment with the bat and the red wine? CRIED FROM LAUGHING. While at work. It was amazing.

I can’t even.

Just read it.*

Lesson learned: Sometimes all you need is someone to relate to.

*Yes, even if you’re a dude. Shit, especially read it if you’re a dude!
